About

Sil Van de Velde (director): Sil is born and raised in Belgium (native Dutch speaker, with fluency in English and French). Sil has had the privilege of working and studying across four continents. He holds a passion for education, conservation, and tourism development. He completed a Master of Science in Sustainability and Tourism Management.

In 2016, he started a Tourism for Justice project with the Sahrawi refugee community of Western Sahara. Alongside all the negative impacts that the tourism system might create, Sil believes that there is a place for tourism as a force for good, allowing our minds and hearts to open up for things that are different, and creating life-long communities of learning.

Sil moved to Kamikatsu in 2022. Previously he worked in education, communications, and research with a focus on conservation and development. Sil is a Certified Climate Coach (Belgium), which allows him to help others navigate conversations about climate change. With INOW, his purpose is to create enriching learning experiences and collaborations between guests and Kamikatsu residents and businesses.

ベルギー生まれ育ち。オランダ語を母国語とし、英語とフランス語も流暢に話す。これまで4つの大陸で働き、勉強してきた。教育、自然保護、観光開発に情熱を注ぐ。サステイナビリティとツーリズム・マネジメントの科学修士号を取得。

2016年、西サハラのサハラ人難民コミュニティとプロジェクトを開始。シルは、観光が善の力であり、異なるものに対して私たちの心と体が開かれるようにし、生涯学習のコミュニティを作ることができると信じています。

シルは2022年に上勝に移住してきました。それ以前は、保全と開発に焦点を当てた教育、コミュニケーション、研究に従事していました。ベルギーの気候変動認定コーチであり、気候変動に関する会話を支援することができる。INOWでは、ゲストと上勝の住民や企業との間で、豊かな学習体験やコラボレーションを生み出すことを目的としている。
